Today I visited the beautiful Zooparc Overloon. I noticed the following things:
    - On the new map a few things were announced, although they weren’t there already: next to the tigers, the snowy-owl’s will get a new aviary, the red-legged seriema’s will get their old exhibit. Black howler monkey’s will get the old lemur island. At the place where the storks lived (they left Zooparc Overloon) they started to build a new exhibit for the Chilean flamingo’s. Also they were building something new (no idea what) where the polar foxes, raccoon’s and striped skunks lived (who all left the zoo).
    - Also Zooparc today announced that there will come a two-toed sloth living with the giant anteaters. He will arrive in 2 weeks, although I’m not so sure if the exhibit is good for a two-toed sloth.
    - the White-naped cranes have left the park, they weren’t seen, signed or on the map.
    - the red river hog’s weren’t signed or seen either, although they were still on the map.
    - the rheas and vicuñas were separated with a fence, I don’t know if this was the case before already, or if this is temporary (possibly because the rhea’s had youngs).
    - the red-bellied lemurs weren’t with the other lemur’s, but were in the old lemur island (they were signed there, I didn’t saw them though) the map says the black howeler monkeys will live there in the future.
    - the zebu’s and debrazza monkey’s were separated with the giraffes, with a fence. I don’t know if this was the case already.
    - In the old monkey cage the white-faced saki’s and marmosets now live.
    - one of the fossa’s unfortunately passed away :( . In that exhibit the bush dog lives now.

Plans for a new South American aviary which will become part of a larger South American area.
The aviary will become home to a group of 40 Chilean flamingos and some other waterfowl :

They also announced some more information about the new South American area, it will be called 'Madidi'.
Which is also the name of a National park in upper Amazon river basin in Bolivia.

They also gave a brief species list of the animals that will inhabit this new area:
    Two-toed sloth, 'Odin'
    Southern screamers (Chauna torquata)
    Cinnamon teals (Spatula cyanoptera)
    White-faced saki (Pithecia pithecia)
    Howler monkeys (species not mentioned)

They also mentioned that new species will arrive at the zoo, but they didn't specify which species.
*Latin names are just for reference, not mentioned in their statement (incase they get subspecies).

They will get the black howler monkey (Alouatta caraya). They aren't there yet, but the species is already listed on the zoo's map.

Stella was born on 29. April 2019 at Jihlava zoo. Father is Largo (21) born at Jihlava zoo and mother is Chrisi (8) born at Schwerin zoo.

Chrisi, her inexperienced mother lost the previous two babies soon after birth and the zoo was fearful also Stella would not live long. So the pavilion Hacienda Escondido was closed last spring and summer to keep mother with newborn sheltered from visitors and keepers were only tiptoeing around them.

Thanks for the information Jana! So the only problem was the disturbance of visitors/keepers or was there an additional problem?

The first baby of Chrisi died second day, the second baby lived for around 10 days and was very vocal meaning it was in disstress, probably due to lack of milk I would suspect. But I don´t know what is in post mortem reports of them.

Slots live on branches under the roof of a room that is used by visitors in Jihlava. The whole space is rather small und when you strech your arm you can almost pet the sloths. I think keepers just wanted to not allow any possible disturbance to the mother, with hope it will help her to relax and learn the correct care for a baby. A precaution.

ZooParc Overloon has started the construction of the second phase of the new expedition part Madidi. Twenty animal species will be on display in this area, including the sloths which are already present. New animal species include spectacled caimans, Tamanduas and Golden lion tamarins. Visitors experience an expedition to South America, where they discover not only animals but also plants and stories from this continent.
