There are several records of echidnas living about half-a-century so, hopefully, "Bruce" will be around for another decade or more.
I think it will be an ibis of some sort or maybe one of those big wood rails, but that's boring so instead I'm going to suggest Horned Screamer. I know they are primarily herbivorous, but I think the answer should still be Horned Screamer.
Bad policy. They might not scream on the right night and then they've got the food bill for the rest of the year...
No nearer, I'm sorry to say. Note that my photo only shows the central part of the aviary: it is wider than I could show as I didn't have my wide angle lens and quite deep from front to back, but not particularly tall. I don't think it would suit storks.
The new arrivals The new inhabitants of the Cottage Aviary by gentle lemur posted 15 Sep 2018 at 12:04 AM 4 ruff and 10 reeve, which arrived from Germany in the morning. There are already a few specimens at Living Coasts: which I suppose could join this flock. I am sure further species will be added to the aviary soon.
