I wonder if she has died or has been sent to a European collection that have Swamp monkeys. Either way, end of an era definately it sounds like. I doubt Paignton will ever exhibit them again, and very unlikely any other UK zoo will either. A failing species in zoos it seems.
TB restrictions lifted (also posted on the Paignton Zoo News 2019 thread but relevant to this thread): Zoo's TB restrictions lifted
Update: Mangabey, cherry-crowned 2.2 (death of 4 year old Yankari) Zebra, Hartmann's mountain 0.2 (death of stallion Uri and arrival of mare Leila)
As the year ends, here's a last update. This list was intended to monitor the TB situation, now thankfully resolved. Once again, it features mammals on show, as far as I know, at the last time I looked and from a visitor's viewpoint. So there's now 3 Heartmans Mountain Zebras. Does anyone know the identity and where the third Zebra came from?
What is the situation with Maned Wolves? They had the parents and three offspring. And someone mentioned they are some in the cheetah off show area? Also Lions - has one of the males left?
I've only listed those that are on show as I'm not in a position to know what's going on behind the scenes. When TB struck, the maned wolves were separated by sex with mother and two daughters in the main enclosure and father and son in the neighbouring one (where you could only get glimpses of them). Recently I've only seen two in the main enclosure - I don't know who they are or who's behind the cheetahs.
