    Sumatran Tiger, Shakira has now been integrated with Tenang and is on show from today

    Missed her by a day! :(

    Also noticed yesyerday that the dwarf caiman have left the collection (or are off-show) and there enclosure is being refurbished for the West African dwarf crocodiles.

    "Paignton Zoo Environmental Park is sad to announce the death of the zebra foal born on 9 November. The foal’s mother, Taru, has successfully reared in the past however, on this occasion she seemingly would not allow the foal to feed. The keepers and vets stepped in and started to give supplementary feeds, but unfortunately she became too weak so the difficult decision was made to put her to sleep at the end of the second day. When you work with animals there are ups and downs, all the more so when you are working with endangered species."

    Got to say looking at the photo of the tiny Joey, I thought it would be very difficult to rear it, particularly without exactly the right milk formula.
