I think I heard a rumour some time ago that the Colobus were moving elsewhere? There's no sign of them on show anyway.

Thats interesting about the roadrunners because I was told by a keeper on arrival that if mixed "they will eat all the other smaller birds"?

I don't think they would want the roadrunners there during the breeding season, but perhaps they think things will be for the next couple of months while it is cold: the tinamous didn't seem best pleased and I saw one of them chasing a roadrunner (but not catching up with it of course ;)).

Makes sense, adds something interesting rather than it sitting empty, but I thought they may temporarily hold the Takin there?
I wonder what is planned for the hillside exhibit (now re-badger proof fenced) opposite the Maned Wolves which held Drawins Rhea until recently?
Anyone know if new Bongo's have been sourced?
Any news on where the 'probable' White Rhino may arrive from?
I went yesterday and the Lar Gibbon House and Parrot aviaries seem to be progressing nicely, after a long delay.
Spider Monkeys still have not moved and I wonder which species is moving in next to them to replace the Colobus when the Mangabeys move up the hill?
    Its like a soap opera!

Giraffe are notoriously nervous and easily spooked. It may take them a long time to venture into this new space if they still have everything they need in their original area.

And apologies I appear to have quoted your reply and not the one you had answered like intended!

Tri UK what do you mean by probile White Rhino I never knew that Paington Zoo were considering adding this species of animal to there impressive list of species they already house. Are the White Rhino replacing the Black Rhino if so where are Sita and Manyara going,or if Paington is acquiring White Rhino in addition to the Black Rhino whereabouts will the White Rhinos come from and what enclosure will they be in I presume Duchesess old enclosure

Is this not mere speculation as the plans do not seem to add up with earlier surfaced plans for remodelling the central part of the zoo???!

Sorry, I could be wrong, but I assumed that White Rhino were replacing the Elephants as part of the future plan, although the Savannah exhibit has been shelved/postponed. What else would realistically be housed in there?

    Visited today, very briefly.
The first owl aviary up from the lions now holds egrets and a night heron in quarantine.
The rear cheetah housing now holds Maned Wolves off-show.
The ex Lechwe paddock now has new gates and badger proof fencing.
There are Ibis (Sacred?) juveniles in the roadrunner/toucan aviary near ABC.
There were felled trees inside the tiger enclosure (plus dismantled shelter) and Cotton-top Tamarin exhibits.
Zoo very quiet, but looked finally like things were happening.......

Are those Egrets and Night Heron not out of the Brookside aviary?

The gate to this aviary stated it was quarantine and there were separate wellies and gloves etc, so, it would seem so?
