    Sorry Patrick, this is not for you as you don;t watch channel 7.
    On the documentary tonight about the birth of the panda cub at Smithsonian/Washington zoo, there was a bried view of a tiny little shrew like creature with a very long nose. Was it an elephant shrew?

    I noticed that. . . ti looked normal for a sec and then I was thinking . . . WHOA. . . WTF is that??? I taped it so I'll rewatch that bit and let you know. but pretty sure it was. Took me by surprise though

    The National Zoo has the the Black and Rufous Giant Elephant Shrew. There is a small growing population amongst US zoos and they are becoming quite popular.

    It was sunday night, world around us. Interesting show. Strange what you notice though. I couldn't help but notice how much gray hair one of the staff working with the pandas developed over the five years the documentary was filmed. Sure she wouldn't have been impressed with seeing that oin film.
    The shrew was quite remarkable, it lifted its little trunk just as an elephant does.
