The works on the outdoor of the giant otters' enclosure are stopped due to some bureaucratic issues. I hope they will able to resume work soon.
And egg of Red-headed Vulture (Sarcogyps calvus) was layed some weeks ago. A very important event, because the zoo is one of the few facilities which host this rare species (I think it's the only park in Europe which has a breeding pair of them along with the Menagerie du Jardin de Plantes).

A bearded vulture hatched on April 21st. 2 flamingos hatched on April 10th, but the zoo is waiting 30 more eggs to hatch within April.
Bearded vulture second hatching for PNV. This egg was taken for incubation and the parents were allowed to brood a second egg. They seem to have a history of breaking their eggs - which the second one did -. Their first offspring - a male - has been released into the wild and the new chick when 3-4 months of age will follow suit.

Parco Natura is having a great breeding-season : - next to the already mentioned chicks of Bearded and Red-headed vulture also a chick of the Western Egypt vulture has hatched. - Sarus and Red-croned cranes have chicks - Black storks have chicks - Northern bald ibis have bred - The already mentioned Maned wolves have 3 young.

An Egyptian vulture (of the rare subspecies ginginianus) was born four months ago. According to the park socials, this is the first ginginianus born in a zoo this year.
