    Now tamanduas also? I've never been to Parken Zoo, but it seems really nice. Especially the fact that they almost only keeps exotic species in contrast to other Swedish zoos who love their locals. And they have many rare species compared to the rest of Sweden also.

    I would suspect/assume that quite a few EU zoos currently are under some financial strain. Care to elaborate what the status for Parken Zoo is?

    According to Parken Zoo the hippo was born about four weeks ago, so in February.

    What I'd like to know is what zoo these tamanduas same from? What zoo in their right mind lets a pair of tamanduas go? Seems strange to me.

    I thought the same really, specially since no zoo from Portugal was listed as having Tamandua's (not that Portugal is well covered in ISIS or Zootierliste, but still...).

    The male is from Doue La Fontaine and the female is from Duisburg.

    I just watched the video (on the parken zoo homepage) of the giant otters in the indoor part of the enclosure and it looks great !!!
