Places to visit Hi, Me and my boyfriend are on a mission to visit every Zoo/Wildlife Park in the UK. We have done around 50% over the past few years and some of these include: Chester Twycross Whipsnade (MY favourite!) Flamingo Land (If you like rides too I'd make it a 2 day ticket) Bristol Longleat Newquay Africa Alive West Midlands Dudley Cotswold Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park Blackpool Dartmoor Paradise Park Hope this helps!
Thanks KatyB, we have most of them on our list, it's just finding time to do them. We haven't been to a zoo for a couple of weeks and not likely to make it for another couple of weeks. We're currently planning a week in south west in September, so will visit Dartmoor, Exmoor amongst others, it's going to be exhausting but amazing
Zoo Tour #9 video is finished and uploaded: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuDcBbwZ0eM Will write a review on Hamerton Zoo in the next few days
At three minutes into the video you're feeding the spider monkeys. Is this cage behind their main enclosure? I don't recognise it.
Oops, clearly copied the wrong link! Have updated the post now to correct video. Thanks for that good spot!
No it is a smallish enclosure that is to the back of their indoor housing, off view to the public. It was a great experience and would highly recommend it!
Our latest video adventure is now online, an eventful trip to West Midlands Safari Park, where an Eland took a liking to my thumb.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCM1wLOR1TY
Zoo #11 - Twycross Zoo Well it's been well over a month since my last video, due to changes at work and doing other bits and pieces, but I have finally finished video number 11 - Twycross Zoo. The day we visited the young apes were in an extremely playful mood, and we also paid to feed the otters. I got a bit carried away and threw some meat at a watching member of public! Anyway hope you enjoy, now to crack on with video number 12 in between visiting more zoos (Yorkshire Woodside this weekend - feeding the polar bears, we can't wait!) https://youtu.be/ZXnJl5FZJZE
I've finally got round to completing video number 12 - Port Lympne. I was whisked away to Kent for my birthday weekend, where I was treated by Lynsey to take part in the Small Cat Experience. It was a great 2 hours going round with the keeper, going behind the scene and I even got to feed a Red Panda. Plus I got to see the lazy Pallas Cat up close. he's mmy kind of cat https://youtu.be/zM_MFkzsaFw
After an exhausting day walking round Port Lympne, it was nice to visit somewhere a little smaller. My birthday weekend was complete by visiting Wingham Wildlife Park. As a birthday treat we fed the raccoons. These are in with the coatis, so made feeding time a little interesting.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4R_VTgjNEc
I like your videos a great deal. They provide a far better sense of what a place is like than any number of photographs in the gallery. Please keep 'em coming.
Thanks Benosaurus I have also finished video number 14 (Shorelands), will hopefully post the link to this early next week. In the meantime, we're going back to Kent this weekend to visit numbers 19 and 20
Good news! There will be a RSCC video, we managed to visit Saturday morning What a great little place, shame it was aimed at such a niche market.
Lights! Camera! Action! One of the marmosets at Shorelands Wildlife Gardens wants a directors credit... https://youtu.be/VJ-FollhRV8
Me and Lynsey have just got back from a fantastic week away, where we visited 7 zoos in 7 days: Marwell Zoo Monkey World Paignton Zoo Dartmoor Zoo Exmoor Zoo Combe Martin Dinosaur and Wildlife Park Longleat Safari Park We're now exhausted but had a great time, favourite zoo was Exmoor Zoo, such a great collection and fantastic staff (big shout to Tina and Lynn). That brings us to 29 for the year, so I'm well behind on the videos! However, number 15 is finished - Whipsnade Zoo. Personal highlights were the Wolverines and the Sloth bears, and getting chased by Peacock (See end of the video!): https://youtu.be/OJlf16Jz0S4
I'm really enjoying this series of yours Paul - it must be time consuming to do the editing - its appreciated!
Thanks NigeW, it certainly is taking up a lot of my spare evenings. Having to sift through 1hour+ of footage each time to make a 4 minute video does take time. I'm glad you're enjoying them; I'm enjoying editing them and looking back and all the amazing memories we have created
