Well, I just discovered this video this morning. It is from Perth zoo’s Youtube cannel and talks about new ideas that Perth zoo might incorporate in the future:

Some of the ideas sound very exciting, interesting and impressive!

I especially love the idea of Animals 360 that is at Philadelphia zoo and is going to be replicated here at Perth zoo!!!

Perth Zoo has welcomed yet another porcupette from their pair of Crested Porcupines. This species is currently held by two zoos in Australia, and it will exciting to see other zoos hold this species.:)

From the Exotic Mammals of Australia thread, "Perth imported one female around July 2017 from the Northumberland Country Zoo (aka Eshottheugh Animal Park) in the UK, and in early 2018 obtained a male from Monarto (presumably the one bred at Monarto the previous year)."
This must be the pair's third offspring (two in late 2018)

I contacted them a couple of weeks ago to find out if they offered any 'behind the scenes' tours so that I could see them, but it wasn't possible unfortunately. I think I knew that before I asked but thought it was worth a try.

Apologies for the late reply (only just saw the question). Perth Zoo’s female ‘Jermei’ is paired with ‘Tao’, a male from France.
I believe they have produced three offspring so far; two males (‘Tiane’ in 2012 and ‘Cahn’ in 2015) and the recently-born female (‘Lulani’ in 2019).
‘Tiane’ was paired with ‘Nhu’ (a female born at Adelaide Zoo in 2012) last year. This young pair now reside at Tasmania Zoo.

73 Western Swamp Tortoises have been released back into the wild. According to the zoo, this is the single biggest wild release of the species. Fantastic news!
To date, 1090 tortoises have hatched at the zoo, and 788 have been released back to wild.

A big and great achievement for an erstwhile critically endangered turtle species.

Any further information on how many locations the species has been re-released and returned to and how large the reintroduced populations now are?

Female Giraffe, Kamili (20 months old) left Perth today to start the 5500km journey to Orana Wildlife Park in New Zealand. The road and sea journey is expected to take 15 days
