I think that these are pictures of London's philippine crocodiles... Malaysian Crocodile on Flickr - Photo Sharing! Malaysian Crocodile on Flickr - Photo Sharing! Does anyone know when they went on show, and what their exhibit is like?
If I remember from last visit these are housed at the back of the reptile house in half of the large enclosure on the back wall (which you view via raised steps). I think the other half is occupied by another small crocodile species but can't remember which one. The enclosure is OK, I think the reptile house enclosures are some of the best in the zoo and always lots of new and interesting species to see (although a challenge to photograph well owing to lots of glass!!).
Yes,these are definitely C.mindorensis. Philippine Crocs can also be seen in Zurich, Chester,Cologne ( still behind the scenes),Eskildrup/Denmark and Protivin /Czechia
Believe Koln`s will go on show when the new Hippo House is complete and the Niles have moved in to the Hippo House.
Right-but several changes are needed to get made in the former nile exhibit in the aquarium.I suppose It will become summer 2010 till the mindorensis are on exhbit. The niles will be moved a few months earlier.
