    Hi all,

Just spotted this interesting addition to ztl, does anyone have any idea if this is accurate? If so then at least one Zoochatter has needlessly travelled to South America to see this and another is over there now! :p

Yeah, I have seen that in the past. Not inclined to believe it is accurate, as it cites as a reference the list of species on the collection website; however this list only contains three armadillo taxa - the three-banded, six-banded and large hairy.

However, as I don't know the truth of the matter I have not removed the listing.

I thought it was an odd species to have turned up recently, especially at such an obscure collection but then I remembered the recent(ish) imports of chacoan mara and grison and thought there may be something in it!

If you look under animal adoptions on the zoos website for 700 euros you can sponsor a pichi.

Hmmm.... considering the fact it is not unknown for Screaming Hairy Armadillo to be identified thus I am still unconvinced.

No, but you but you do get your name printed on a nice piece of laminated paper and pinned up next to the exhibit; it's worth every cent.

I know the person who has listed that species and he got the information of the owner. I'll try to find pictures or more informations of these animals.
