lol ur a keeper thats unfair!! also isn't the last shot you with an big snake but not holding one ^^ + did it escape ^^
I only had to be "with" the animals in the pics, but I have one of me and a colleague moving him if you'd prefer! He didn't escape, certainly not! He's a 32yr old male and when he's not in the mood for food he is well and truly zoned out of eating mode. His daughter however then needs space to eat and she's a bit "fun". So he comes out for some exercise while she eats. Despite there only being two people in the pic, this always occurs with minimum 4 people in the room.
Lotte - that's the biggest Jamaican Boa I've ever seen (in the first pic). Me and a native North American Reptile Me and an echidna (a very long time ago).
A few disclaimers about the black leopard photo: (1) The facility (which I won't name) no longer allows direct contact of any kind (2) The leopard and it's owner left soon after this and I was told by staff the reason it was so docile was because it is retarded (3) I was young and naive and would never do this now (4) My beautiful hair is now gone due to middle age balding! The grizzly bear is safely behind glass at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo - a photo from this year (although hat covers bald spots).
Hix - Both of our Jamaican boa girlies are this size, the one in the pic is 7.4kgs and the other we're hoping will produce some babies for us eventually is 7.55kgs! They are a glorious species to work with, the iridescence on them sat under the UVs is just unreal Vulpes - In the second pic I was prepping a female Utila Island Iguana for an X-ray, light pressure on both of the eyes with a little ball of cotton wool incites a Vasovagal response, relaxing the animal and the bandage obscures light. I love her!
Obligatory silly reference... Careful. If you remember, according to a chain letter which appeared in an episode of "Pinky and the Brain" some years ago, Col. Spatz was trampled to death, in Nairobi, by a herd of angry dik-diks. On a more serious note -- Interesting looking critter. Are they a subspecies of small deer, or are they closer to the gazelles?
Royalty in bird form... This is me with 15 gorgeous pounds of golden eagle, taken in early summer of 2008 at the Greater Vancouver Zoo. Apologies for the crappy quality, as it was a scan of a hardcopy print and the scanner was not quite up to snuff. Unfortunately, Skye is no longer with us. As some may already be aware, her handler did not keep her in adequate flying condition (she should have been around 12 pounds, ideally), and she was therefore unable to escape becoming a meal for one of the lionesses when a couple of crows chased her into the lion enclosure.
this is an interesting thread in-as-much as it gives an idea of the people behind posts. I thought CZJimmy was much older, for example! I have a photo of myself with a cheetah but I don't think I should add it as I had a Metallica moustache at the time (had been in Tasmania for a month and when I got home shaved it into the mo for a laugh, and then went to see the cheetah the next day)! I don't think I have any others (although I have one of me with an Amorphophallus titanus in Sumatra, taken yesterday, which isn't an animal but close Maybe when I get home I'll upload something.....
I havent posted in this yet. Heres some photos from a few months ago, when my hair was bigger And with some killer dingos
