I just checked and the only cat close to a lynx on their Instagram account was a ocelot and a clouded leopard.

Does the zoo still have the young imported bull elephant Umasai?

Has his condition regarding his autoimmune disease improved and any chance this has impacted his breeding potential as far as having it having any transmittable genetic implications?

Interesting question. I saw he was missing on the app. He is still on signage.

Would anyone be willing to send me a list of the individual info the apps provides? I don't have access to it.

Umasai is usually out in the evenings when the zoo is closed. This might be why he is missing from the app. I contacted the zoo and they are looking in why they did not include him on the list. I told the zoo Hope the gorilla needs to be removed since she has now debuted at Dallas. I also told the zoo that the howler monkey and gibbons exhibits were flipped on the app.

There is still no timetable for Coolio because his exhibit is still being worked on. Sea otters should return soon. They are sanding the windows this week. I have confirmed that Asian Forest is now Forest Passage.

The zoo has (finally) admitted it holds pangolins:
"Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium: Friday, on national Endangered Species Day, the zoo is drawing attention to the three wild-born pangolins it holds in captivity. Used for research, they are not expected to be curated for public viewing for two years."

Coelacanth18 and Kifaru Bwana like this.

    Article (with photos):

Pittsburgh zoo at forefront of saving endangered pangolins

I was hoping they'd quietly be included in the new exhibit. Is a new exhibit slated for completion in about two years?

Yes it is most likely two years until the solarium opens and also, where else would they put them? Also the subspecies of pangolin the zoo has are white bellied pangolins

Yes, they are white-bellied pangolins, Manis/Phataginus tricuspis. They originated from Togo.
