TP Berlin should have 2 breeding groups that are working very hard to establish the species :p, so these will probably not be the last chacoan pecari moving to other zoos in the coming time...

Reports are floating around that a male calf has been born this week to "KARAMAT" the Indian rhino.
    Can anyone confirm?

Just a short update on the Chacoan peccaries :

Planckendael has received 5 animals from Berlin Tierpark, which will be shown in the old White-lipped peccary exhibit.

2 of the White-lipped peccaries are still in live stock, but I have no plan, whether they will be on Display in the future or not

The white-lipped peccaries will leave the collection.

Fantastic news! That makes two zoos in Europe with them! I'm assuming they came from Copenhagen?

Also, side note, does anyone know if bonobo Lina's baby has been sexed and/or named yet?

Planckendael is indeed constructing an enclosure and the animals will arrive soon, but the message that they have already arrived is apparently derived from an error in translation....

Indeed, vient de arriver … is not equal to have (already) arrived.
More like planned to arrive / acquire! ;)

Found this on a Zoo-Forum which is normaly reliable (it's in Dutch and says they have arrived ) :

That information comes from a wrong translation of the French text, so no there are no Tasmanian devils in Belgium.
