According to this article they say that there will be some new species (hopefully an African rhinoceros as it was World Rhino Day yesterday). Steam Community :: Planet Zoo :: Events
I can't imagine that they'll leave out either when the full game releases so fingers crossed for the beta.
Unrelated to the above conversation Planet Zoo - More Beta Information! This link might have already been posted, but it says that none of the Deluxe Animals will be available in the Beta, as well as some of the other species that have already been announced. Also, none of the saves that we make will be transferable after the launch. They also say October 4th is World Animal Day, and that they have many reveals planned for that day.
One thing I noticed in the beta trailer that may or may not mean something - if you listen carefully around the 9 to 11 second mark (where it says 'Join the Exclusive Beta') there is a faint three-note call of a helmeted guineafowl audible in the background. Considering all the other animal sounds in the trailer are from confirmed in-game species, I hope it means we might get another new bird.
I'm sure it will be full of surprise species. I'm not planning on getting the beta, so please let us know of any new species or other interesting things you find in there.
According to the Planet Zoo Reddit, Nile monitors are a full exhibit animal. Speaking of which, here's a full species list of all animals in the Beta (taken from Reddit),
Just got in from work, have set it downloading while I so out something to eat and sort the many many many animals I keep...
I’ll just say this, it’s a beta for a reason. They already have made a list of bugs that been revealed. Just give it time
Is there a way to move the camera just by moving the mouse (like in Zoo Tycoon 2) because I'm finding the right clicking and dragging pretty annoying.
