It seems our bane of existence, animal rights activists will be included in the game (seen at 0:42-43 into it). Wonder if we will have the option to boot them out.
Seeing the already released gameplays I think they just pop up when your animals live in poor conditions.
An update on the number of species to be included: Planet Zoo AMA! (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit - 18 September 2019 - 2PM UTC / 3PM BST
Anyone interested in bird species in the base game? I believe the only ones we know of are ostriches and Indian peafowl.
Yes! Although Frontier's probably saving them for when we can build aviaries, there's so much untapped potential for birds in Planet Zoo. I think we actually have a lot more options for birds in the base game than many people think. We could have emu, rhea, cassowaries, penguins, flamingos, pelicans, cormorants, ducks, geese, swans, herons, storks, cranes, bustards, shoebill, pheasants, guineafowl, turkeys, curassows, ground hornbill, secretary birds, kakapo, screamers, trumpeter birds, seriemas, and crowned pigeons. All of the choices that I mentioned are ones that I feel like we wouldn't need aviaries for, and could go well in the base game as main exhibit animals.
That AMA is interesting, They appear to have confirmed some type of fox in the game. They wont announce all animals before lauch, which is disappointing as some may not pre-order before seeing the animals in game which I find a strange decision. Then they apparently took inspiration from Chester Zoo, particularly Islands....so they didn't go on members preview day then when there was no animals to be seen. Also hinted at few other things which I cannot find now.
I was thinking artic fox due to the tundra foliage options but I agree fennec would be perfectly good as well!
It seems to me, based on what is known so far, that the game might launch without polar or Chinese animals and that they would then be logical expansions.
