I had seen it when it was off-show at Berlin. At Pilsen it is mixed with epauletted fruit bat in the African nocturnal house, the window is partially covered so no good photo opportunities.

this was mentioned in passing on the last page of the 2014 thread, but I just happened across an article from January with more detail so thought I'd post it here:

We have a baby of South American Tapir (Tapirus terrestris). It is a boy and his parents are Ivana (F) and Tex (M). He was born on March 19, 2015.

    Narodil se roztomilý tapír

Edit: Changed a date, wrongly added 2005 instead 2015

I dont know if Prague will obtain a new ratel female. Dvur Kralove tries to start with this species, so theoretically a joint importation from Tansania might be possible in near future, to save resources.

Not a new species for Prague, but two new individuals - 1.1 I think.

Prague zoo keeps 3 North American otters now.

The 2O years old female Sanny has been moved into non-exhibit enclosure recently.

On 2nd October, the zoo got a young pair, male Cory and female Tara, from the USA. They are wild-caught, they were problem animals in conflict with fish breeders. Thus, the zoo got export permit after long negotiations with US authorities.
