At June 16 an Egyptian vulture hatched at Prague Zoo and was placed in the nest of foster-parents of the same species.
A few days later the Zoo Menagerie Jardin des Plantes - Paris - France asked for help for a 5 day-old chick which was hand-raised at Paris.
It was dicided to bring the chick to Prague and it was placed in the same nest of the foster-parents with the first chick. Both young are doig fine and are being cared for by the foster-parents ( article in Czechian ) :

Prague city council authorized investment plan for next 5 years (2017 - 2021) that grants 31 million euro to different projects in the zoo. It includes new exhibits for gorillas, polar bears, giant pandas, golden snub-nosed monkeys, Tasmanian devils, wallabies, bisons and some other animals.

The zoo´s got its visitor number 1.000.000 today. That should lead to circa 1,5 million at the year end, the best figure ever for the zoo.

The zoo signed agreement with Peking zoo about import of golden snub-nosed monkeys(Rhinopithecus roxellana). But first, the zoo must build an enclosure for them.

And what exactly would the zoo to achieve with that ?

I hope, they have to pay a lot of money for this"Breeding-Loan". Good Times for Monkey-Lovers, isn't it ? What comes next, Mountain Gorillas ?

I understand the skepticism, a lot can happen in next years that might hinder such import.

But I think the probability is high in this case. Prague and Beijing city goverments signed an association agreement early this year, zoos are mentioned. Prague director was guest at latest annual meeting of Chinese zoo association. Currently, Peking zoo hosts an exhibition about Prague zoo. Next year, Prague zoo will organize transport of Przewalski horses from european zoos to China. Animal exchanges are planned. And Prague zoo will partner with Chinese zoos for nature protection projects in central Africa.

Prague zoo wants nice animals. China wants economical cooperation with EU and political influence it seems.
