For the first time in 8 years, Prague Zoo is raising ticket prices. From 1st February, adults will pay 250 CZK (cca 10€) and kids/students will pay 200 CZK (8€).

Zoo also increased the amount of money that will go to conservation projects, previously, it was 3 crowns from every ticket sold, now it will be 5 crowns.

I'm planning on visiting Prague again this year (now that the Parrot house has opened) and I was wondering if anyone here got an eye on the off-show rarities ? 2 years ago I didn't manage to get off-show, I e-mailed the zoo a month before my visit but that didn't help.
I would really like to see the dorcopsises. And apparently they're not at Prague anymore, but I believe they had two green magpies species, one on and the other off-show, not sure which one is gone, probably the off-show one.

0,0,4 Keeled slug-eating snake (Pareas carinatus) hatched - this might potentially be first breeding in European zoos.

Malayan tiger female Wanita was sent to NaturZoo de Mervent. This happened a bit earlier, but I forgot to mention it.

5,5 White-faced ibis (Plegadis chihi) arrived from private keeper. According to Zootierliste, Prague is one of 4 zoos in Europe (1st in Central/Eastern Europe) that keeps this species.

Excellent - having missed this one at Best, it's pleasing to hear there's somewhere a bit more reachable with them now!

Mind you, I would personally classify Cottbus as Central Europe too :p

Funny how things are sometimes...Zoo located 800km further is being "more reachable" :D

Yeah, Cottbus is one of the cities I always place wrongly...:D

Tasmanian devils in their outdoor paddock for the first time!
At this time, however, zoo is closed for public due to covid-virus (opening of tasmanian exhibition was postponed to the end of may, but mostly depends on situation with virus)

They are in the former Bighorn Sheep enclosure, which is unmarked on the map and basically next to the Elk enclosure behind the restaurant.
