    What are its members ?
I guess there are Russia and some other neighbouring countries, but I don't know precisely them.

An association of zoos from throughout the former Soviet Bloc, including some from Czechia, Poland and Germany - membership list can be found here:

And more curiously, some zoos in Israel, United Arab Emirates and even Brazil, that never were under Russian or Soviet domination, nor communist / ex-communist countries.
The latter isn't even "European" nor "Asian" !

I suppose this isn't too unique considering some of the EAZA members also definitely are not European! :p

This is now at zoo´s HP and FB. "We are with people of Ukraine"

The zoo states it has left EARAZA in solidarity with Ukrainian zoos hat have done the same. The zoo will organise help to families of Ukrainian employees of the zoo (I guess they prepare for them to arrive as refugees). And after it becomes possible, the zoo pledges support to zoos in Ukraine that get damaged by Russian attacks.

I'm hoping to travel to Prague Zoo in August this year. Can anyone confirm or deny if they still house Shoebill Storks and/or Manul? Thanks!

As far as I know, they never in, lets say, last decade or two, housed manul (if you mean octolobus manul or pallas cat).
They are planned for reconstructed mongolian exposition, but I don´t know, when is that supposed to open (have anyone more info?), but would be very surprised if it will be finished this year.
Shoebills should be there and as far as I know, they are no plans for removing them.

The zoo keeps 4 shoebill storks and only 2 of them are on show - in waterfowl house - behind big cat house near crane pens.
Manul cats were kept in the past and even bred in year 2004, but they were only backstage and have been sent away since because their planned ernclosure near owls never materialized. They should return but not earlier than next year. Nearest manul exhibits are in Chomutov and Jihlava, both a day trip away from Prague.

So that mongolian section should/could be finished next year?
Also, anyone knows more about developement in that rear part of zoo, besides polar bear? There were once some plans for aviaries near Gočárovy domy - restaurant/gallery in the furthest part of areal...

The Director of Prague Zoo shared a written sort of a "walkthrough" through the new gorilla house confirming pretty much the whole species lineup only missing some herps and inverts. The species present will be:

    • Gambian pouched rat
    • Straw-coloured fruit bat
    • African brush-tailed porcupine
    • Northern talapoin
    • De Brazza monkey
    • Mantled guereza
    • Gorilla (family group + bachelor group)

According to director's twitter, there was some issue on Taipei's side, they are now expected mid-April

In other news, 4yo Tasmanian devil male "Sumac" died last week due to intestinal issue.

Confirmed by the director, the pangolins are arriving this Thursday (or maybe the next one, the wording is kind of iffy, but he probably wouldn't be announcing it that "far" ahead)

Their first public appearance is planned for mid-May.

Let's hope the keeper will be fine as soon as possible.

However, I was surprised that Tamara attacked. She is the calmest, most peaceful and kindest of all cows. I guess she didn't do it on purpose and it was just an accident.

The zoo's post did not include this picture of the building entrance which they did post on Facebook

There are also better resolution images of those posted to the website. The island does appear planted but nothing has leafed out yet. I hope there is adequate protection for those plants
