Exotic Collection of Taronga Zoo (Including Previous)

I've been interested for a while in species which we have lost from Australia. Tonight I was looking through museum digitalized collections, a few specimens mentioned being donated by zoos after their death. From this I decided to search the Australian Museum catalouge for specimens from 'taronga' or 'zoo'. And this is what I got.

Ignore the common names as they are based on the specimen and many have changed since their collection. Use the binomial names if you can. Dates are included if the specimen had a date.

Sorry for digging up a relatively old thread, but i'm too lazy to start a new one...

Am I right in saying that Taronga had an old female leopard seal untill 1.1 relatively young animals washed up within a few months/years a couple of years ago and that the old female died since? So that Taronga now holds 1.1 still relatively young animals?

Yes, Brooke died shortly after she was moved to the new Southern Oceans precinct, leaving 1:1

It should be noted that Taronga has never had 'old' leopard seals. They have all died prematurely.

Apparently in 1999 of the 11 Crab-Eating Macaques (Macaca fascicularis) kept at Taronga Zoo (at the time in the same exhibit as the Orangutans), 9 out of the 11 Macaques were found to have the antibodies of the Herpes B virus and were euthanized. In the subsequent autopsies only one Macaque was found to have the virus proper. I could not find any info on the remaining two Macaques as to whether they were put down with the rest or exported soon after.

Did the two species get along well together?

From what someone told me on this site 3 years ago apparently the Macaques became antagonistic at one point in terms of sitting in front of the Orangs exit doors but when the staff removed a dominant male Macaque this stopped.
