that was actually a mislabelled large Indian civet - see Maguari's photo which shows the same animal: Civet at Saigon Zoo, 16/03/12 | ZooChat But. yes, as FunkyGibbon says the animal is no longer at Saigon Zoo anyway.
I only saw one, although there may have been other individuals. I didn't take any photos in the house because of lower light levels, but as it happens this individual was the animal I saw best in there because it was sleeping right at the glass.

Hopefully I'll be back one day. There are some other photos in the gallery from Jackwow as well, including the lovely African elephants stained brick-red from the soil here.
Why do they have African Elephants and not Asian? Are there many other African Elephants in South-East Asia?
I have no idea. It does seem a little odd. I have seen African elephants in Asia before - Colombo Zoo in Sri Lanka has one, and there are some in India and China. I can't recall off the top of my head if I've seen any in southeast Asia though.
I'm pretty sure they don't. The nocturnal house does not appear to exist any more, and there definitely wasn't a linsang with the other small carnivores. The Thai Zoos site isn't particularly up to date.
