It's funny, but only because noone got hurt. What is most interesting is that, and I can't quite believe I'm typing this, but they appear to have actually set a date on which those animals will (gasp!) go on public display!

indeed, most interesting and exciting. Here's more info

the last line is good, but does the article say that only one giraffe and one rhino will be on show on the tour or is it just badly-phrased?

It certainly reads like only 1 giraffe at a time on display, but surely they could have at least 2 if not 3 rhinos out at a time?

Maybe they mean one of each (such as "you can see one of each of our giraffes: Rosie, Penny or Forrest")?

What, like one of Rosie, one of Penny and one of Forrest?

that's even more confusing than what the article does say, Jabiru96!

I think they must mean all three giraffe will be on display - I can't see why it would be otherwise really - but it is very badly worded. As for the rhino, probably the same but they may not all be out at the same time.

To me it sounds like one giraffe on display. But it sounds like most of the rhinos will be on display.
I don't know why they would be getting so close to mother and its young, pretty silly move if you ask me.

That's how it reads, but I can't see why they would only have one giraffe on display and two off (and the wording makes it sound like the on-display one is on a rotation with the others). Very confusing.

I just realised also that they wrote that the giraffes are going to be grazing the Savannah!

Having only one giraffe on display sounds like the usual Australia Zoo thing to do. But I guess one is better than their usual none (off display).

I am not sure if it has Ben posted here (I think it has been kept secret) but Australia Zoo also have another female rhino called 'Inyeti' who arrived from WPZ in July of last year.

update on the African Safari (including video and photos on the link):
Zoo's African safari charges ahead | Ipswich Pets | Animal and Dog News in Ipswich | Ipswich Queensland Times
I can't watch the video on this computer, but this line in the article is interesting: "With the new arrival of baby rhino Savannah, three new zebra and the arrival of another African animal not far away". The article mentions "rhinos, zebras and giraffes" several times but don't they already have the giraffes at the zoo (off-display)? The line makes it sound like they are getting some entirely different African animal as well.

It does sound like that, but it's another Giraffe.

Also, Cheetah will be 'on display' (that's a loose way of putting it) when Africa opens, but obviously they wont in the savannah enclosure. My understanding is they'll be walked around the enclosure where their sprint strip will be.
