This is a major coup for Albuquerque.

“Joe" the 4.25m C. porosus passed away. He was roughly 1,000lbs. Labs were sent out to find the cause of death. Apparently his liver, kidneys and spleen had issues.

I am not sure an $8 million dollar penguin exhibit (for which they have only raised $2.5 million so far) is a good expenditure for a zoo with so many outdated exhibits and such a slow rate of improvement.

    Master Plan

The Zoo has now posted stuff on its master plan on its official site. This is also the master plan for the Albuquerque Aquarium.

Notable changes include completing the half circle of the Raptor Roost Exhibit into a Full Circle, an additional elephant yard, expansions to the Zoos Africa Area, and Australia Area, Demolishing of the cat walk into a South America Exhibit, The Zoos Anticipated (if I ever get to see it in my lifetime) Penguin Chill Exhibit, a Polar Bear exhibit expansion (right where the zoos future exhibit sign for Artic Foxes has been sense 1997), and The complete relocation of the Seals to near the Polar Bears.

I would like to see the Master Plan Slowly built in within my lifetime! All of these feel like fantastic Ideas!

I guess after acquiring devils, which many thought was impossible, the zoo decided anything is possible. Though I would love to see more bear species.
