Due to the ongoing renovations in the ARC and growing Komodo Dragons, the Zoo has constructed an indoor exhibit near the Siamangs that should be open soon. There's also an outdoor yard near Koala for the Dragons to enjoy the nice weather. No word on what will replace the Dragons in ARC. There are also new bird aviaries around the Zoo for the displaced birds due to the Entrance Area and Seal and Sea Lion Exhibit construction.

Sad loss: Macy the gorilla gave birth to a baby, but it was born in the breech position and died. WISTV : Riverbanks Zoo's first baby gorilla passes away Elephants: anyone know what is going to become of the exhibit with only two animals now? I've never been to this zoo before, but based on pictures I've seen in the gallery, I think the exhibit would be more appropriate for rhinos.
Riverbanks, Columbia did have a breeding pair of black rhino till the early 2000's. Then their breeding male Zakar died and the breeding female Gemstone was transferred out later (since moved to Baton Rouge Zoo). One of their calves', female Circe was sent to Miami MZ and is now Miami's breeding female.
IIRC til the late 80s there were White Rhinos where the Giraffes are now. Three of them the last of which died just a year ago!
