Found some vintage photos of the Riverdale Zoo's Indian elephants from the Toronto photo archives website. They seem to have been kept by the front gates where the cow/horse paddocks are now. If you were just walking in the adjacent park you could have seen them without even going into the zoo since they were so close to the entrance. 1913 https://gencat4.eloquent-systems.com/webcat/systems/toronto.arch/resource/fo1231/f1231_it0524.jpg 1922 https://gencat4.eloquent-systems.com/webcat/systems/toronto.arch/resource/fo1231/f1231_it0555.jpg 1926 https://gencat4.eloquent-systems.co...esource/ser372/ss0052/s0372_ss0052_it1273.jpg There are also pictures of the polar bears, lynx, cassowary, monkeys etc in the archives which can be viewed online. Just type in "Riverdale Zoo" in the search bar and check on "Scanned photographs only". There are other records of lions, hippo, gorilla, tigers etc but the images are not online for viewing. https://gencat4.eloquent-systems.com/webcat/request/DoMenuRequest?SystemName=City+of+Toronto+Archives&UserName=wa+public&Password=&TemplateProcessID=6000_1580_11104&bCachable=1&MenuName=Public+Keyword+Search&eloquentref=toronto
