    On May 18th, the zoo announced that a (0.1) Hoffmann's two-toed sloth named Araña passed away due to a congenital illness.

    On June 12th, the zoo announced that the Diversity of Birds aviary has once again reopened to the public. Also, their flamingos and blue cranes have returned to their exhibits.

    On June 25th, the zoo announced that (0.0.25) yellow-spotted Amazon river turtles were born on June 11th.

    On June 29th, the zoo announced that a (0.0.1) Von der Decken's hornbill was born.

    Also on June 29th, the zoo announced that (3.0) Humboldt penguins named Bruno, Maverick, and Ganso have rejoined the colony on exhibit.

    On July 28th, the zoo announced that a (0.1) white-lipped deer named Luan has turned 23, which makes her the oldest of her species in the USA.

    On July 29th, the zoo announced they have opened a new art exhibitation called the Arts Stroll, which is in the Wildlife Trail area.

    0.1 Reeve’s Muntjac named Violet was born June 19th to parents, Alfred and Roselyn. She is now on exhibit with mom in the red panda habitat.

    Fall is moving into winter shortly! Anyone heard any updates on this elephant pregnancy? A lot of Asian Elephant news the past week, would be a welcome addition to hear of a successful birth here!
