    Visited yesterday and was told by a "ranger" that a Greater kudu was born last week and that no less then 4 Southern white rhinos are pregnant --> births expected at the end of the year :).

    Quick question, does anyone here know what happened to the pair of Agile mangabeys they received from Epe in 2015? They were being kept behind the scenes in SBB, but now they seemed to have left the collection, according to ZTL.

    EDIT: ZTL was just updated with a new holder in Italy (Zoo delle Maitine), so never mind this question. :p

    Attempting to work out what the chimp groups are at the zoo. This is my current theory based on various news articles, excerpts found online and help from the 2014 studbook:

    Bachelor group of 4

    Dennis
    Daan
    Wouter
    Sanne

    Group of nine

    Socrates
    Stephan
    Marlies
    Michelle
    Pepa
    Fangina
    Martje
    Jozi
    Inosha

    Group of eleven

    Gert-Jan
    Wakili
    Julian
    Anna-Clara
    Lenny
    Centa
    Linda
    Nadine
    Joke
    Marijke
    Lily

    Can anyone confirm if I'm even half right? (also if anyone knows who Lily's mother is?)

    Also, have any animals transferred from Antwerp, Münster or Emmen recently?

    Because the zoo gave me seven chimp names I'd never heard of on private message and one of them was Tuena who apparently came from Rotterdam (this is clearly the gorilla). So I'm wondering if the following names from the above three zoos ring any bells?

    Antwerp = Erik

    Emmen = Sharno, Kitoto, Umba

    Münster = Abuja, Amadou

    All are male if that helps

    Emmen has not kept chimps for the past 30 ( or eve more ) years so don't understand were these names came from .... ?

    Exactly. This is why I'm asking here, to see if the others are in fact other animals with those names that have been transferred over, considering Tuena is a gorilla.

    For the full story on why I'm asking this go to the Dutch Apes thread.

    After asking on a Dutch forum, it appears that these new chimps SBB said they had aren't real. These are the chimp groups as of right now:

    Bachelor group (5) = Dennis, Gert-Jan, Daan, Wouter, Sanne

    Socrates' group (9) = Socrates, Marlies, Michelle, Pepa, Fangina, Martje, Stephan, Jozi, Inosha

    Wakili's group (10) = Anna-Clara, Lenny, Centa, Linda, Nadine, Joke, Marijke, Wakili, Julian, Lily

    The old Sloth bear / rhesus monkey enclosure being rebuild. Here a North african desert enclosure will be made with Addax, Dorcas gazelle and Ostrich.

    The Black mangabeys from the park have been placed with the Gorillas. For the empty Mangabey island a new group will arrive soon.

    With the bachelors, or Komale and Tuena? Also if it's the former, are the colobus also present in this mix?

    The Black mangabeys are with the newly formed pair and the Colobus are still with the bachelor-group.

    Yesterday Red buffalo female Inge became first-time mother of a female calf. It was the first birth of this species since 1997 :).
