    San Antonio Zoo:

Here is my species list from my visit to San Antonio Zoo, Signage is not as good here as opposed to Dallas but I will do my best to list every species I saw, signed or unsigned. I will add I did not do any of the Paid experiences such as the Butterfly House, Kangaroo Krossing, or Lorikeet Loft, but I was able to see a handful of the species in the Lorikeet area, a species list for the butterfly house was posted already, but other than that, these are all the species signed and that I saw. Same rules for my previous species list “I will be doing it by area, if an enclosure has multiple species they will be separated by commas. Bolded means I did not see the animal.”

How did the zoo determine that these animals are not Colombian white-faced capuchins?

I assume DNA tests, I can't say for sure, but the signage lists them as C. imitator

Just want to confirm - no red river hog, white rhino, yellow-backed duiker, striped skunk, ocelot?

Probably they just didn't see those species or signages.

The rhino was posted while I had the window open. I would hope bigger species like those would be signed...

When did the San Antonio Zoo last have elephants? I didn't realize that they had no more.

Ocelot has been gone for a couple of years - the old (rather small) ocelot and white saki monkey exhibits were combined with the previous adjoining (red?) howler monkey exhibit to make one larger exhibit for the black howler monkeys and red rumped agouti.

No yellow-backed duiker, red river hog, or striped skunk either. But Indian flying fox are supposedly coming (per this interview with zoo CEO Tim Morrow: San Antonio Zoo: building on a foundational year), possibly in antiquated the much-too-small shared space where the hippo and tapir previously lived; that old exhibit is under renovation. The empty enclosure under construction mentioned above is most likely for secretary bird, which will need to relocate for the upcoming gorilla exhibit construction (as noted by @nczoofan in San Antonio Zoo News 2023 [San Antonio Zoo]). If that proves true, then the secretary bird will return to almost the same place they lived previously.

San Antonio Zoo's Asian elephant Nicole moved to The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee in March of this year after Karen & Lucky's passing in 2022. The trio had been known locally as The Golden Girls.

Sadly, she passed away at the Tennessee Elephant Sanctuary from foot problems only a few weeks later.

The yellow-backed duikers might still be at the zoo, just not viewable. The pathway along the section of hoofstock exhibits where they lived has been closed off. The bush dogs were adjacent to them, but were moved to an existing space next to the tigers. So the duikers might still be around -- either still in their old exhibit that is no longer accessable, or behind the scenes.

The Southern White Rhino is still there I did miss that, the Duiker, red river hog, and ocelot are both gone, and I don't recal them having a skunk so it must have been gone for a while.

That is true, I wanted to ask a keeper why the area was blocked off, but no one was around, just a wall saying to turn back past the warthogs and entrance to the africa aviary overlook

The red river hog was elderly and recently passed away. The zoo does still have duiker as of a few weeks ago. They are somewhat viewable as one must stand next to the staff gate to see them, across from the upper viewing for the Africa aviary. The same can be said for the male babirusa which can be viewed just behind the females exhibit on the other side of the staff area.

As @robbare stated, the last one left in March 2023, though they MIGHT bring back (likely African) Elephants in a few years.
