A Lemur Walk sounds amazing!! I don't see anything on the SZ or SZSP's website. A little surprising that there is no announcement ... did I miss something?

Went there yesterday, they tell everyone that the lemurs bite so don't get down or get eye level with them. Don't touch them, they can touch you but don't try to touch them. no kids under 5 are allowed inside. While I was there for 20 minutes nobody got touched

Yeah, in the video it looks like a zoo person was trying to get the woman to shake her arm so the lemur would drop, but I don't know if she was afraid or just enjoyed having it hang on her. If they're allowed to touch you, I don't know why the guy was so concerned with getting the lemur off of her. I can't wait to be able to go see this. I got the impression from pictures that there was no contact, but it looks like the walk-through monkey exhibit at the Phoenix Zoo. They're allowed to touch you, but I've never heard of any jumping on anyone.

Isn't there a zoo in the midwest that allows a lemur to sit on you and you hold a cup of food or something? I don't remember the name of the zoo so I couldn't tell you if it was AZA or not. I tried to find the photo on Flickr, but the person I saw doing the interaction like that doesn't have those ones public.

I wonder where this new troop came from. What I've read said it was one male and 4 females. I'm assuming they still have the island with sisters Butch and Denise...

The are no lemurs on the island anymore. The keeper I talked to said the 4 new lemurs are all under 4 years of age and they came from Florida. She didn't know anything about Butch and Denise.

Aw, that's a bummer. Hopefully they were just moved to another zoo or something.

Does anyone remember the rumor a couple years ago about them building a hotel on the grounds? That idea seems to have gone away (or maybe they are just keeping it on the back burner...)

Just went to the zoo today, they are building a cement encased boat by the bat exhibit. I assume it will be some sort of kids play area, but who knows?

There were four Dhole pups born at the Safari Park in April. There are now seventeen Dholes at the Safari Park.

While this is good news, it would be even better if visitors could actually see some of them. (Unless they are now on exhibit and I am unaware of it).

Two lion cubs were born last friday according to the safari park twitter account. They are being hand raised.
