David Brown is somewhat local and has visited recently. I'd say that's confirmation.

There are no Wombats of either species on exhibit at either the Zoo or Safari Park. I have heard that there is/was a wombat that is an animal ambassador but I have never seen it.

When did they take the ones next to the devils off exhibit?

I couldn’t tell you when it changed. It was before I was going to the Zoo regularly. There is a Bettong in the first exhibit there as you’re coming from the entrance, and then the Tasmanian Devils.

No worries. If I'm remembering the layout correctly, it sounds the bettong is in the former wombat exhibit. Wonder why they chose to take the wombats off exhibit.

Do they still have: Andean bear, African clawless otter, dwarf mongoose, binturong?
Also, what coati species is kept both at the zoo and safari park?

    Thank you!

You'd think that would be enough to put the species on their website ;) There's quite a few zoos with those cubs right now, I have a twitter for just following zoos and Andean cub posts are as common as penguins and otters lately.

    ;)

EDIT: There's also pages for Dwarf Mongoose, Binturong, and coati.

True, it's slightly confusing. The "animals and plants" link on the zoo's main site isn't the one to use. If you go down the side bar to "our family of sites" and then select "animals and plants" that is the real link for their animals and information.

Let me know if some additional directions would be helpful. :)

o_O I know which link you mean, I assumed it was the same one and didn't click. Why even have two different pages like that?! What is the point of having one with species missing, if you also have one with all of the species on it? Sigh.

Beyond me, I don't understand the reasoning behind it either. I've pretty much forgiven them on the basis that they generally provide a lot of information on their species including whether the species is present in the collection. You just have to make sure you clicked the right link. :p:rolleyes:

I guess I should be glad that they at least have it available at all, compared to most places!
I just opened up my flickr home page and right at the top are a few photos uploaded by them of the cub (plus a few other babies).

Do you know what animals could be found in the shows like the Wegeforth Bowl, the small show in Africa rocks, or any of the animal ambassadors?

They featured a Common Wombat online recently, one of the ambassador animals.
