The old thread was titled 2016 and was quite long, so I thought it best to create a new thread for the new year. Please begin using this thread on January 1. Also, hope everyone is looking forward to Africa Rocks!

The Eagle Trail is currently closed for renovations. The guest walkway is being redone. The baby mandril has been named Ajoni.
What do you mean? The zoo does not have any plans for them right now. They where going to get a exhibit in Africa Rocks but we're cut.
I did not explain, my b. They are currently off exhibit and the gazelle and kudu from the exhibit over were moved into their pen. I was just curious as to where the zebras at the zoo went or what they are going to do with them.
1.1 Patagonian cavy are now on exhibit with the giant anteater pair. Does the AZA have any program for cavies?
Found some drone footage on YouTube of the zoo, with some views of the construction progress on the Africa Rocks exhibit. Appears that the holding areas are pretty much complete, with mostly landscaping left to finish.
Nice find on drone footage. It is not just landscaping that needs to be finished, the exhibits need to be finished as well! As you say, it looks like just holding areas so far. Then they fly over the elephant yards at EO and those look like a construction site as well!
Hmmmm? I would be lying if I said I wasn't a bit concerned about them finishing this in time. As stated by @Arizona Docent the exhibits don't look like they have even been started yet. All I see is a little rock work, finished holding areas, and what looks to be the aftermath of the dust bowl. Hopefully there is a major construction boost between now and June/July. Then again, this is what EO looked like about 3 months before it opened. Elephant Odyssey Construction Update 3-3-09 | ZooChat Thanks for the video @Falcosparverius
There are no plans to demolish the Hunte Ampitheater, which was used for daily shows, since it is not in the footprint of Africa Rocks.
