They need another $70-million for a Chinese Riverine System first!

70 Million? As the price keeps rising for each new exhibit at the SDZ, I wouldn’t be surprised if a Chinese exhibit was 100 million!:p

Construction costs are out of control in California. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Chinese exhibit top $100-million.

Panda Trek says otherwise. Why not build a new exhibit for the salamanders there? Perhaps in similar fashon the mang mountain pit viper enclosure.

Panda Trek is relatively small and focused. Something as expansive as the new Africa Rocks exhibit that covers the length and breadth of China's wildlife could easily run $100-million. Otherwise, yes, they could build a small addition to house the salamanders in the current footprint.

What is BOP? Don't take this personally (I mean no insult), but posting acronyms like this is not helpful in my opinion.

    Beaten.

On a related note, has anybody here eaten at Albert's? How handicap accessible is the place?

    I did, it’s very good.

I can’t personally remember if Albert’s is handicap accessible, but on the SDZ map it shows that Treetops Way, where Albert’s is located is accessible, so I’m pretty sure it is.

There is an elevator which goes to it from a handicap accessible area.

Apologies. I've seen "BOP" used very often by various members on this forum and throughout other mediums for years now so I figured it was well-known acronym- to the point to where I once used it to refer to a bird of prey and I was met with a lot of confusion.

I've seen it used looooots of times for birds of paradise and never for birds of prey until this post.

I regularly see BOP used for both birds of prey and birds of paradise. Seems to be more context and preference far as I can tell.
Though more back on point, I do hope they put their Magnificent Birds-of-Paradise on display at some point.

Same here. Also in New Zealand it stands for Bay of Plenty, but that's probably not confusable here.

Whoooh, yeah ... I love that one: Bay of Plenty!

Perhaps another reason for people to stop just writing up in acronyms and internet speak and give the all and not wait for the obvious questions form those not really getting what one is getting at(and just names of animals ...). Hopefully better next time!

Just want to clarify that, when I said I used it for bird of prey, I meant that I used it for that only one time and never again because people thought I meant bird-of-paradise. I really only use it for birds-of-paradise.
