There is currently a Sea Lion die off going on in California. Currently there are upwards of 500 Sea Lion pups in care at rescue facilities around California, and more than 900 have been brought in. This compares to the usual 225 pup taken in each year. Currently rescue facilities are stretched to their limits.

Far more sea lion pups are stranding on California beaches than usual this year |

This has been blamed on the fact that the water is warmer than in years past.

Good for these cute sea lion pups as predators can eat them but 1,000 pups died as result of warm water, could be pollution.
