As some of you may remember I appealed to these forums some time ago looking for information on Seaburn Zoo in Sunderland for a short documentary I was making. The documentary is now finished so I thought I would share it in case anyone was interested.

    Thank you everyone who helped.

Great documentary. It would be brilliant to look at more smaller zoos history in this style.
The site certainly had its incidents over the years.
It would have been nice to see more photos of the zoo but I assume there are not many around?

What a fascinating piece of work - thanks very much for sharing Rob.

I'm a County Durham lad originally, growing up very close to this at the time it was open; and I had no idea it existed. As a family we travelled to Edinburgh Zoo, Flamingo Park and of course we had Lambton Lion Park. I can only assume my folks steered clear of this place.

Anyway, a great watch, and a great listen to those lovely mackem accents. :)

I am very pleased that you liked it. The zoo did not have the best reputation at the time so many people steered clear of it from what I understand. Feel free to share it.

    Thanks Rob
