They're also going to have artificial snow in the habitats!

So, giving visitors an illusion of a tundra landscape?

It isn’t like fake snow it’s ice spread into the exhibit. It’s for the animals and visitors.

Is that not exactly what fake/artificial snow is ... ? The habitats will be equipped with machines that make the "snow" fall in the exhibit.

I’m clarifying for the other person. Some types of fake snow are little flakes of paper or bubbles.

Right, but I'm not sure how appropriate that would be for the inside of an animal habitat haha

I don't know the answer for your question. What I do know is that Singapore is no longer the record holder. Singapore got 45 million liters, but the Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in China has 48,75 million liters. As SeaWorld Abu Dhabi claims, they are targeting to become the largest one with 25 million liters. This would mean they are focussing on the biggest tank, which is currently the 24 million liter Ocean Voyager tank in the Georgia aquarium.

Manatees on the building. I don’t remember them being confirmed for the park.

It is a possibility, but I suspect remote given that the UAE waters contain a regionally significant yet well protected wild dugong population that is quite vulnerable to any disturbances. If I am correct the species has only sparingly been maintained in aquaria (Jaya Ancol, others...?).

Sealife Sydney, as well as Toba Aquarium currently keep dugong, to some success I believe.

If it ever gets done anywhere I am holding out for a dedicated center that has both rescue facility and ex situ conservation breeding cum education in mind. I really do think that is well overdue and am convinced given good staff and husbandry management could be done. Siting Australia, Phillipines, Indonesia and Arabian Gulf / Red Sea coastline, perhaps even up towards East Africa.

This website has new information along with higher resolution images of the new park. Interestingly the site describes species that will be found in the park such as: Dugongs, Hawksbill Sea Turtle, Green Sea Turtle, Sea Snakes, Seals, Sea Lions, and Humpback Dolphins of an undescribed species. My guess would be the Indian Ocean Himpback Dolphin considering its prevalence in the Arabian Gulf. The only holder of Humpback dolphins I know of is Chimelong with Indo-pacific humpback dolphins, so I doubt the dolphins will come from them.

I don't know, I'm really sorry! I know absolutely nothing about their sea otters haha. I believe the newest arrivals from ASLC will be going (Log into Facebook | Facebook) but I'm not 100%. Previously there had been a statement published that Abu Dhabi would be receiving otters from ASLC's rescue program.

There's no official announcement for the upcoming move just yet
