Auckland Zoo Senior Carnivore Keeper - Trent Barclay

    Does anyone know if Trent Barclay, a Senior Carnivore Keeper at Auckland Zoo, still works there? He was on The Zoo programme, and as far as I know his wife works in the zoo hospital there. I haven't seen him on TV or at the zoo for quite a while now.

    Someone told me he'd left to become a plumber! No idea if this is true or not...

    Trent left Auckland Zoo probably about 2 years ago to pursue another career unrelated to animals. His wife no longer works there either.

    That seems like a shame, he always seemed to be so at home with the animals.

    Sam Kudeweh has gone to Hamilton Zoo, Bruce Ireland has gone to Franklin Zoo, Laurie Pond has gone to Australia Zoo, Glen Holland has gone to Zion Wildlife Gardens.

    Samantha Stephens is now Samantha Kudeweh, she married Richard Kudeweh, formerly of Melbourne Zoo.

    Has Amy Dixon left Auckland Zoo? In the latest Zoo Alive newsletter it says that Courtney Eparvier is the Primates Team Leader.

    Sorry to bring up an old thread but I am still stunned how such a passionate and dedicated keeper like Trent suddenly left. I remember watching episodes of The Zoo here in Australia and suddenly he stopped appearing in any of them.
