Facebook announced the arrival of a male Red panda from Lyon today. I don't know if one of the sisters have moved on

One of the females, 'Ember', has been moved on.

The following recent arrivals have also been confirmed:
    • 1.0 Maned Wolf from Aywaille.
    • 1.0 Aardvark from Prague, 0.1 from a collection in Wales (no idea which - none listed under current or former holdings on Zootierliste).
Imminent arrivals include 1.0 Pygmy Slow Loris, 1.0 Scottish Wildcat, and an unspecified number of Von der Decken's Hornbills.

There was a research article that I linked to the forum back in 2017 about the welfare of captive aardvarks in European zoos that listed a single female aardvark at Manor House Wildlife Park, so it could well be from there.

It is. It was off show there. There was plans to have it in with their Meerkats but they decided against it in the end.

Things are definitely on the up for Shepreth then, especially after the arrival of the Sumatran Tigers as well!

I wonder what their reason for not mixing them was? This is not an unheard of mix.

The Meerkat exhibit is quite small at Manor Park, and I would imagine they would have needed a bigger inside and outside exhibit to have Aardvarks, so possibly they decided rather than expanding the exhibit and rebuilding it was easier to put the Aardvark on the surplus list, then do the improvements and get another one in.

What the Facebook post actually says is "a female aardvark from Wales and another from Prague Zoo".

As well as seeing the new arrivals today, although the aardvarks were asleep (yes, they have taken place of the porcupines), I also saw two tiny Asian Small Clawed Otter pups :)

So proud of this place worked there many years ago and it is going from strength to strength on captive breeding projects, as well as the hedgehog hospital . This collection is given little praise for the genuine love this family has for its animals, and the care the staff give to the animals. Rebecca-Willers is a true champion for not only captive breeding projects, but also for international projects .

If the female is the original one they received then she would have come from Fife Animal Park in 2014:

I visited Shepreth the other week and have since noticed how out of date some of the Zootierliste entries are, some species have been gone 5plus years!
    Gone

    Common Squirrel Monkey
    Argentine Black & white tegu
    Chilean Chinchilla
    Common Buzzard
    Common Fallow deer
    European Polecat
    European Red fox
    Long-nosed potoroo
    Northern Raccoon
    Ocelot
    Tiger - non subspecific

    Added

    Eastern Pygmy marmoset
    Rhinoceros Iguana
    Parma Wallaby
    Red Crested Turaco
    Sulcatta tortoise
    Leopard tortoise
    Standings Day Gecko
    Fire skink
    Frilled lizard
Several other reptiles but I can't remember them all.
Perhaps someone would like to update the records please?

Do they still have the Sumatran Tiger mother and daughter from Chessington?
