What will the new centre be? An aquarium?

Yes, it will include an aquarium and a science center. I have written some information about it in #1.

Any idea what species will be housed in the Baltic aquarium?

This has nothing to do with the Aquarium already on the waterfront further down from the Vasa Museet?

The pond turtles are housed in Lill-Skansen, the Children Zoo. Next to small domestic animals, it includes enclosures for native rodents, snakes, lizards and amphibians, as well as the critically endangered Australian swift parrot (quite odd that this species is kept here, but it's part of a breeding program).

The opening of the Baltic Sea Centre was scheduled for Autumn 2018, so I hoped to visit it this week. However, constructions are still taking place and the opening is postponed to Spring 2019. It is something different than the Aquaria Vattenmuseum, that was closed permanently last week (to my unluck).

i wisted the zoo today for the first time in close to 2 years
    two things of note
the old eurasian eagel owl aviary is now empy and being redone(it lookt cuite old comperd to the zoos outher encloushers) the eagle ows can now be sen in the former white backed woodpecker. they dont apear to have the woodpeckers any more sadly.

they lynx moved in to the former wolf exibit today. curent plan is to move the wolverines to the old lynx exibit and for artic foxes to live in the old wolverine exibit. they do not have a time scale for this my guess is summer 202

The great grey owl enclosure partially collapsed due to heavy snowfall during the night between Monday and Tuesday. One of the two owls living in the enclosure was found and caught at Tuesday night, while the other owl is yet to be found.
