John I asked you also on the Dutch zoosite forum why do you think there are just 3 males in Apenheul. Isis can be wrong (as it often is) and if he passed away this would be announced. So till then I would assume Apenheul has 4 males. If you still doubt why don't you just call them.

The one who told me that at Apenheul are just three males present, and last winter one male went out of the group, is a well informed one.
Besides that this idea synchronises with the ISIS data, so I do wonder.
    That's all.
I don't see Redy on a recent photo. But I could be wrong.

Redy is not the "big" male he was in Planckendael...

Due stress (i think) he has lost some weight i think, and he lost some hair, or he pulled it out. It is possible that it is Zamba that we see on the pics now. But i am not sure. So far as i know it is Redy. Last year i spoke many times with someone in Apenheul of the bonobo's. So i am sure that he was still there at the end of the last season... I assume that he is still in Apenheul, but that Redy has been ill, and that he haven't the looks of a beautiful bonobo. Like he had in planckendael.

It is sad, because it was a beautiful bonobo when he lefted Planckendael. Now you can recognize him the best on his face now. If i have it right, and the male on the pic is Redy... So far as i think. ;) I am not 100% sure, but there are others that also think that the picture i mentioned was Redy...

And like they say above me here... Apenheul would bring out news like this...
Even Planckendael said it when Kidogo died last year...

He has been put back into the group, because it was just a total stressed out reaction of him. The females scared him away because they find that hy had to much food for his own...

But where he now is? I haven't seen him on 2 august. But i saw a male that i couldn't spot correctly. Maybe it was him. About Hongo and Hortonse i am 100% sure. And about the two other ex-pld bonobo's? I will inform now...

I will let you know the answers...:)

The story about Zamba and The Jumb is about food. That's true.
I immediately thought and where was Redy at that moment. What was or should has been the impact of Redy on Zamba.

Thats has been my question from on these days.

The influence of Redy on that specific conflict would be minimal. He was the one that had the most adaption problems into the apenheul group. Hortonse (and ofcourse the kid Hongo) were instantly high in the group. And afther a few weeks even Zamba made several friends. Only Redy was not confortable into this group.

So would Redy helped with that conflict if he was there? I think not. Only mother Hortonse, but she was on the other side of the island on that moment so far as i know at that moment?

The baby of Kunmbuka is a gril, with the name Yahimba.
The male on the pictures i mentioned earlier was Mobikisi.

And yes, Redy died arround the time that zamba escaped.
I am not suggesting anything with this fact, but that fact is true... ;)

Bonobo Vifijo will move from Berlin to PLD, and Hermien and Huenda will move from PLD to Stuttgart. Probably this year. :)

    Nothing heared yet...

But Bonobo Lomela will never get pregnant... She drowned yesterday in the night. According the press release: She was still outside when the others went inside. And the zookeepers closed the doors. (She was high in a tree, and the zookeepers didn't saw her, or didn't missed here inside). In a late panic attack of her (she wanted to go inside), she was fallen into the river that surrounds the island...

    The rest is clearly.. RIP

    PS:
The Koala male Kuna, from San Diego is finaly also for the screens now. :)
+/- 5 years old is he.

Yes, Vifijo has returned in the save haven of Planckendael. And is integrated in his natal group.

I have read the confirmation of Planckendael now. But thanks!
He was not totally integrated last thurseday i think. He was the only one left in the main hall, seperated from the group...
