One of my main reasons for visiting zoos besides the fact I love them, is to photograph some of the animals. Recently I take most photos with my phone and post to instagram. I hope you all enjoy some of these shots. Some better than others but I always try to take some good ones.

with the exception of the Snow Leopard, black panther (leopard) red panda and that monkey who's name escapes me, yes. all taken with the Samsung Galaxy either the 1 or the 4. I feel I have more control for close ups on the animals with the phone rather than a large SLR cam, especially for close shots like those of the alahambra Tortoise. You lose the zoom quality for further animals, but it just is so simple to get the shots exactly as you want them when not wrestling with an iso, white balance or focus setting.

wow, those are pretty amazing then. I use my phone for texting, and occasionally making a phone call.

Some very nice photographs indeed - I suggest you upload these to the Zoochat gallery so they are more easily viewable by Zoochatters :)

Yes, please upload to the gallery so we have some context for them. If everyone started a personal photography thread, it would become a very crowded place.

    Lovely pictures, please upload :).

My phone doesn't even have a camera (or internet (and it has a keypad!))!

I apologize, I am so new here, I will figure out how to do so and upload them! I am very excited about this community and glad to have discovered it.
