I thought the last african elephant to live at Taronga was Chori, who was apparently hard to handle and who died when she fell while under sedation during an attempt to move her to Western Plains. That was about 1979 or 1980. Earlier there had been Cheena, who was a sweet little African girl, but who sadly died young, at least 10 years before Chori.
thats what i thought, plus look at those tusks, huge, i dont remember an asia or africa from that epriod with huge tusks, im guessing just an error in date
