Are there any ZooChatters from the Southwest that would fancy a meetup at a local zoo? Anyone up for such an event is welcome to suggest zoos that they would like to visit :)

Personally, weekends are my only option - but this could also be an opportunity for others to discuss a meetup :)

I'm not in the South West, but if it involves a trip to Exmoor then I may be able to make it down... ;):p

In that case I may try and make it down before Christmas. :) Obviously I'll give you a bit of a heads up first... :D

Haha yes, please do! If you can get the train down to somewhere near me, its a fairly straightforward drive! :)

I would like to, but am working weekends now. I will see what I can do once anything is set in place.

Depending on when it might be, and the co-operation of trains, I'd like to try and make it! The Southwest has some nice zoos :)

Let me know if you plan anything, I could also be up for this, but would depend when it was!

I was thinking of a trip to Exmoor Zoo this coming weekend, or maybe the weekend after if that means more people can join - Would anyone be interested?

Sadly I can't at this short notice. I was just thinking about it today as well!

I'm more than happy to delay for a few weeks to accommodate - plenty of other zoos for me to visit ;)

I'm in the same boat as Funky at the minute, I've got Christmas prezzies to sort out this month but hopefully next month. I'm angling for a night away as part of my Christmas present so I'll PM you once I've got more details. :)

I am working this weekend unfortunately, so wouldn’t be able to make it. Hopefully will be able to make another date once you choose one?

So, zoo people of the UK... I'm thinking Exmoor (again), preferably on weekend over the next couple of months? If weekends on a whole are difficult for people, I can always move my shifts around.

What do the previously interested folks think?

I'm thinking I'm still interested, and I can do alternate weekends. I'm not sure how I'm going to get to you though... And roughly, when were you thinking? If I'm heading that way I might try and spend a night in Bristol to maximise zoo visiting (and because I love Bristol as a city so why not?) but that would involve saving up for a month or two.
I'm not familiar with anything in Somerset/North Devon by public transport, I've always got off at Temple Meads or carried on to Torquay/Paignton, so where would be a convenient meet point for you?

As I'm free every weekend (usually), I can work around other people. In terms of meeting you, it would depend what zoos are on the agenda and what days we'd be doing them aha l.

How would Taunton work for you if we're going to Exmoor?

That's great. If I travel home the night before, its on the way to Exmoor for me :)

Well we'll pencil it in for the end of Feb or middle of March, as it's close to my birthday and may well cut down on my personal expenditure if I can persuade someone I need a train ticket for a present! ;):p
