(Forward note: If the administrators do not mind, would like to perhaps request that hopefully as more info and missed species are added over time will put in a request to update the initial lists much like some other threads)

Some of the mammal species (and sub-species) formerly kept at Perth Zoo which no longer are starting from January 1992:

Chimpanzee (1.1 left March 1992 for Hyderbad Zoo) (1.2 loaned from Taronga from June 1998-July 1999, sent to Ueno Zoo in Japan)

Japanese Macaque (off public display since 1999)
Sulawesi Crested Macaque (last individuals sent to Tasmania Zoo circa 2008)

Some mammals species gained by Perth Zoo since 1992 which are still at Perth Zoo

    Southern Brown Bandicoot
    Red Kangaroo
    Western Grey Kangaroo
    Western Brush Wallaby

    @Jambo

    RE: Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroos:

If they were already at Perth Zoo then PZ would of had two Papuan Tree Kangaroo species as they had Matschie's Tree Kangaroos during the 1990s/early 00s

Mammal species already at Perth Zoo in 1992 that are still there though may have been short-periods of species absence for some:

    Sumatran Orangutan
(Perth Zoo's legacy with these guys is already well documented on our regions forum by many awesome members informative posts over the years)
Javan (Silvery) Gibbon (Perth Zoo's legacy with these guys is already well documented on our regions forum by many awesome members informative posts over the years)
Northern White-Cheeked Gibbon (Perth Zoo's legacy with these guys is already well documented on our regions forum by many awesome members informative posts over the years. However as a side-note will add that male individual Phillip has now lived at Perth Zoo for approximately 48 years and is seemingly the longevity record holder for his species. Another side note is that for many years the individuals of this species at Perth Zoo were displayed simply as 'White-Cheeked Gibbons' with the species split by zoologists occurring between Southern and Northern White-Cheeked Gibbons in the early 2000s')
Hamadryas Baboon (individuals have changed and reduced in number, destined to be phased out of zoo, moved to current exhibit in 1996 though was a year of absence from the exhibit from mid '98-mid '99 while occupied by a trio of Chimpanzees from Taronga Zoo. The species is destined to be phased out from the zoo which I seriously thin Perth Zoo should reconsider)
Golden Lion Tamarin (Australasian Ceboidea (NW Monkey) Populations (Present and Historic))
Cotton-Top Tamarin (hopefully info on above thread coming soon)
Emperor Tamarin (hopefully info on above thread coming soon)
Common Marmoset (possibly not at Perth at start of 1992, hope to find out more)
Western or Eastern Pygmy Marmoset (Perth Zoo started again with non hybridized imports)
Ring-Tailed Lemur (at Perth Zoo in early 90s, more info hoping to find)
Black-and-White Ruffed Lemur (at Perth Zoo in early 90s, more info hoping to find)
Asian Elephant (current 1.1 arrived December 1992 but late great Tricia was there on her lonesome having arrived in 1963 and been solo since early 1970s, passed in July this year aged 65 after 59 years at Perth Zoo. The zoo plans to phase out their Asian Elephants so Permai 0.1 and Putra Mas 1.0 will go to other zoos in near future)
Southern White Rhinoceros (Memphis born in Memphis Zoo in 1987 was already at Perth Zoo since 1990, currently still resides at zoo as one of oldest residents with his son whos name I use to remember lol)
(Rothschild's) Giraffe (re-arrived at zoo in late 80s/early 90s after a period of species absence)
Plains Zebra (in 1990s and 00s were individuals from the Grant's Zebra subpopulation, believe Perth has continuously held Plains Zebras for many many decades)
(Southern African) Lion (30 years ago was male Alistair and a female who was possibly his mother until arrival of 0.2 Manzi and Mafuta in mid 1990s, now relatively new individuals with some charismatic individuals at the zoo inbetween)
Tiger (generic origin Tigers at Perth many decades, in 1994 the zoo joined regions Sumatran Tiger program with arrival of 1.0 Calang first in January of that year, followed by 0.1 Malu from New Zealand in 1999; both these individuals are now deceased but many individuals including their offspring and offspring's offspring have lived at Perth Zoo since, believe one male individual (a Sumatran) currently resides at the zoo)
Spotted Hyena (trio arrived from Berkeley USA in August/September of 1991, these individuals all now deceased and new individuals currently reside at the zoo)
African Wild Dog (a breeding trio at Perth Zoo in early 90s, other individuals at the zoo in 1980s and possibly late 70s, these individuals suffered a major loss in December 1998 due to eating horse meat of a chemically euthanised horse and several individuals died, new individuals arrived at Perth Zoo in early 2005 for opening of current large exhibit and have reproduced very productively also)
Dingo (individuals have changed of course)
Small-Clawed Otter (individuals have changed of course)
(Slender-Tailed) Meerkat (individuals have changed of course)
Ghost Bat (individuals have changed of course)
Koala (individuals have changed of course)
Southern Hairy-Nosed Wombat (individuals have changed of course)
Numbat (individuals have changed of course, Perth Zoo famous for major success in captive breeding and release of this highly endangered diurnal marsupial that is endemic to the south-west of Australia)
Chuditch (individuals have changed of course)
Common Brushtail Possum (individuals have changed of course)
Western Grey Kangaroo (individuals have changed of course)
    Red Kangaroo (possibly)
    Tammar Wallaby (possibly)
    Western Brush-Wallaby (possibly)
    Quokka (possibly)
    Woylie (possibly)
Short-Beaked Echidna (may have been absent from Perth Zoo for certain periods)

some others I may have forgotten

Perth Zoo bred a GTK in 2016 to Huli and Kaluli, who were noted to arrived at the zoo in 2015. There were plans to introduce Huli to Doba following this:

0.1 Kaluli (Feb 2008) from Melbourne Zoo
0.1 Doba (March 2009) from Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
1.0 Huli (September 2012) from Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

Interestingly, the zoo was noted to have previously bred GTK in 1980, meaning they held the species prior to these individuals.

RE: Some Mammal species had forgotten about

Common Eland (a male was at Perth Zoo very early 90s, certainly in 1991, plans to have him co-habitate with Memphis the Southern White Rhino' didn't go to plan and do not know what happened to this individual, sent to Dubbo perhaps?)
Dromedary Camel (individuals still at PZ in late 1980s not sure when last died or left)
European Fallow Deer (individuals still at PZ in late 1980s not sure when last died or left)
Mara {Patagonian Cavy} (may have still been at Perth Zoo in 1992 but certainly gone for almost 30 years)

(side note: the zoos 2 Striped Hyenas departed for Singapore in 1991 so dont make the timeline I set up but just thought would give a little mention; were phased out by zoo at time the Spotted Hyenas were arriving at the zoo from the US)

It seems they possibly phased them out sometime in the 80's before the arrival of the Matschies? Although it was the 90's so Perth could've very well have held both species at once.

Perth Zoo imported “Rothschild’s” giraffe in 1991. A female named Misha (31/07/1990) arrived from Orana Wildlife Park in October 1991. The zoo also acquired a male named Anthony and a female named Marama from Orana Wildlife Park.

That’s devastating they lost their African wild dogs in December 1998 due to tainted meat. Wellington Zoo similarly lost a Sumatran tiger and an African lioness in November 2001. Interestingly, Orana Wildlife Park imported three male African wild dogs from Perth Zoo in 1998, meaning they narrowly escaped that incident.

A Very Short Handful of Bird Species Examples:

    Little Penguin
(been at Perth Zoo for decades and decades, though individuals changed of course, current exhibit opened 1998)
Emu (been at Perth Zoo for decades and decades, though individuals changed of course)
Double-Wattle Cassowary (may have arrived at zoo in 1990s though think individuals held in decades prior)
Common Ostrich (held at Perth Zoo in '70s and '80s, attempts to intergrade the Ostriches with the Rothschild's Giraffes & Grant's Zebras didnt go well with the Ostriches harassing the Zebras I believe, been absent from Perth Zoo for nearly 30 years)
Nyasa Lovebirds (once kept in the African Savannah, gone for about twenty years now)
Fireback Pheasant (once kept in the now defunct World of Birds complex)
a Wydah species or two (once kept in the now defunct World of Birds complex)

Would love to know more about the Zoo's history with other bird species. Know the zoo did have Wedge-Tailed Eagles at some point (definitely in 1970s and I believe 1980s) as the current southermost of the two (on display) exhibits for the zoo's Northern White-Cheeked Gibbons was first built as an Eagle aviary as Tetrapod informed me.

The zoo’s current Sumatran tiger is a male named Jaya. He was born at Perth Zoo in 2008 to Hari and Setia. Setia was born at Perth Zoo herself in 2000 to Calang and Malu.

The lionesses, Manzi and Mafuta, were born at Melbourne Zoo in 1992. From memory, they were transferred to Perth Zoo in 1994. The zoo currently holds two lionesses named Uzuri and Makeeba. They were born at Dubbo in 2015 to Lazarus and Maya.

The younger male Southern white rhinoceros is named Bakari and was born at Perth Zoo in 2005 to Memphis and Sabie. Their first calf was a female named Tamu, who was born in 2002. She’s now at Orana Wildlife Park, where she’s produced three calves to date.

The studbook labels her a Rothschilds so I think we know rather reliably that Misha (and Anthony) were Rothschilds. Misha would go on to produce the famous, Makulu, the kiss giraffe. He went on to produce four calves of his own at Melbourne, one of which has sired 20 or so offspring at Monarto!

Have just learned from @tetrapod that plans by Perth Zoo in the 1990s to import surplus Goeldi's Marmosets and Red Ruffed Lemurs from the US were never achieved by the zoo.

The studbook doesn’t label Misha as Rothschild’s. Misha, Anthony and Marama are recorded as Retic/Rothschild’s - indicating they’re hybrids.

According to the studbook, Australia’s only purebred Rothschild’s giraffe was Twiga, who was imported by Melbourne Zoo in 1997 and paired with Makulu.
