    *Signed as Eulemur fulvus albifrons. Suspicious of that classification, I constructed this lemur's pedigree using studbook data. It turns out that Gandalf's pedigree begins with the interbreeding of a white-fronted lemur and a Sanford's lemur; the resulting hybrid and its descendants were then repeatedly bred to pure white-fronted lemurs, all the way to Gandolf, who has one pure albifrons parent. So despite technically being a hybrid, he is not far from being pure albifrons from a genetic standpoint.
