Spirit is a Dreamworks movie from 2002 about a young stallion who is captured as he is a beautiful mustang and the main plot is free horse captured horse four times until he blows up 2 trains and a town to get back to his herd.(Basically a rip off of Bambi and The Lion King).

Never mind the fact that what the ignorant masses believe are wild horses that are part of America's wild heritage are in fact feral horse that are nothing more than escaped domestic horses and are not native to North America at all.

I am actually recommending this film because of:
    Good story
    Beautiful song
    Has a great soundtrack
    Has action and romance
And shows 19th century America (sorta)

I didn't like this movie much... because of extensive usage of 3d graphics that didn't blend well with traditional 2d animation; the image looks too smooth, too correct and doesn't have a defined contour. While we know some good examples such as cgi herds of wildebeests in Lion King or caribou in Brother Bear.
Giving eyebrows to non-anthropomorphic (even non-speaking!) animal character is quite silly, and not only for horses, but also for eagle
And of course, the stallions were made neutered (with vaguely implied sheaths) and whiskers are gone from horse faces.
