The St. Augustine Aquarium had its grand opening on Saturday (the soft opening was back in December). Any ZooChatters planning a visit? Article: St. Augustine Aquarium ready for big crowds Info: St. Augustine Aquarium | Visit St. Augustine
I might be able to squeeze it in with the Alligator Farm and one other place this summer, but that depends on if I even get to St. Augustine. Website: St. Augustine Aquarium, Snorkel Adventure & Zipline I wonder if they'll seek AZA accreditation.
Surprising how many new aquariums are opening in the United States. Also sad to see they have one of those obnoxious zip lines that are a blight to zoos (and now aquariums) across the country.
I think that the USA only needs maybe 2-3 more public aquariums to open before hitting the total of 150 in the nation...an extraordinary number!
Here is the facilities website: St. Augustine Aquarium, Snorkel Adventure & Zipline Reviews on Tripadvisor are decidedly mixed with most people giving it either 5 stars or 1, not much in between. It would seem that right now the place is unique (to put it nice) in that it is almost all outdoors and quite small. Check out the pictures on Tripadvisor, they give a good idea of the place. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attract..._Augustine_Aquarium-St_Augustine_Florida.html
It is not run by the aquarium, but by a nearby company. This place is really tiny! I'll write a review sooner or later when I get back from my trip. It won't take more than three paragraphs...
While the zip line is not technically the same company, they are located on the same property and advertise themselves as "Zip Line Canopy Adventure located at the St. Augustine Aquarium" and the aquarium has them on their website too. But I am interested in your review!
