A Somali wild ass was born at the St. Louis Zoo on April 10, 2008. Here's a link:

What's the Zoo to do with its Somali wild ass problem? :: Saint Louis Zoo

I've read that the other two mares are pregnant. Does anyone know when foals #2 and 3 are expected to arrive?

I am planning to go to St. Louis to see/photograph at least one of the foals while it is still very small.

I love the St. Louis zoo-- the chance to see Somali wild ass and horned guans is not to be missed. So many other interesting species as well: Cabot's tragopan, okapi, bushdogs, Speke's gazelle, Chacoan peccary, Visayan warty pigs, very nice herd of lesser kudu, Grevy's zebra, wattled cranes, a fantastic looking male Bactrian camel (Elvis), etc.. Just something wonderful everywhere you look...

I missed the last giant anteater birth at St. Louis. Anyone know if another baby is expected any time soon? I have never seen a really small giant anteater baby riding mother's back-- and would love to get some photos.
