Anybody ever do the Sunrise Surprise Stroll at the San Diego Zoo? I'm going down there for the day (even rented a new lens to try out for the day) and wondered if it was worth it? I've been to the zoo once before and probably only saw 2/3 of for how much time I had there — so I'm looking to maximize my day off this weekend.

Think it's worth the extra $29?

I doubt the photo opportunities are very good if that is your goal. It is mainly a chance to learn about how they care for some of the animals and see a couple behind the scenes keeper care areas. I did it there once a looong time ago (like 20 years) and it is not really worth it IMO.

However in the summer they are open from 9am to 9pm, so if you stay the full twelve hours you should be able to see everything.
